  • Necessary Supplies:
    Tools: Phillips #0 small screwdriver.
Cleaning Agents: 90% or higher Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) .
    Applicators: Cotton swabs (Q-tips), a soft-bristled toothbrush, and a lint-free cloth.

    Disassembly Steps:
Remove External Screws: Flip the controller over and remove the five Phillips screws from the back casing.
Separate the Shell: Gently pry the two halves of the shell apart starting from the bottom.
Caution: The L2 and R2 trigger buttons and their small springs are prone to popping out; handle them with care.
Disconnect the Battery: Lift the grey battery and unplug the white connector from the motherboard. Do not pull on the wires—only the plastic connector.
Remove the Motherboard: Unscrew the single small Phillips screw located in the center of the motherboard.
Extract Components: Lift out the motherboard and rumble motors. You can then remove the rubber membranes, plastic buttons, and D-pad.

    Reassembly Tips:
Drying: Ensure every part is completely dry before reassembly to prevent short-circuiting.
Button Alignment: Place the plastic buttons back into the front shell first; they are "keyed" and will only fit in their correct slots.
Trigger Springs: When reinstalling R2/L2, ensure the spring leg is properly seated so the button feels "springy" when pressed.
Testing: Before tightening the final screws, reconnect the battery and press the PS button to ensure the LEDs light up.
